Yountville’s Golden Ticket Opens Doors After 50 |
Local history, creative classes, and new connections through one seasonal membership |

Want something on your calendar besides appointments and errands? Yountville’s Golden Ticket program gives adults 50 and older a way to try a class, learn something new, and spend time with other people.
The fall registration form lists a seasonal membership fee of $80 for Yountville residents and $92 for nonresidents, with registration open to both groups.
You can sign up for multiple offerings, although some classes have separate supply fees and limited space.
A timely reason to take a look
Historian Rebecca A. Yerger’s local history series continues November 17, from noon to 1 p.m., with Yountville: A Community of Families, Part 1.
The talk explores families who helped shape the town and the lives behind their contributions.
Part 2 follows December 8, giving history lovers a reason to return.
Build a week that fits you
The fall weekly planner ranges from watercolor and memoir writing to a yarn club, dance fitness, bridge, and technology help.
You do not have to fill every day to make the program useful.
One regular class can give you a reason to leave the house and a familiar group to look forward to seeing.
Choose something that interests you, then check its schedule before adding another activity.
How to get started
Register through the town’s online registration link or visit the Yountville Community Center at 6516 Washington Street, Yountville.
Online, add the membership to your cart before choosing classes.
Check availability before planning around a particular session; waitlists may be offered when a class fills.
Financial assistance is available for Yountville residents; ask Recreation Coordinator Rose Lopez at 707-948-2603 about assistance, current enrollment, or getting started partway through the season.

The waitlist option is useful, but I’d check availability before getting too attached to a class. Limited spots fill up fast.
I went to one of Rebecca Yerger’s local history talks before and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to hearing more about the families here.
It’s nice they offer financial assistance for residents. That could make a real difference for someone on a fixed income.
Anyone know if there’s still room in the dance fitness class? I’d like to give it a try this fall.
The online registration sounds a little confusing with adding the membership to the cart first. I’d probably go to the Community Center and ask.
Nina C.I’d probably do the same. It’s easier to ask someone in person if you get stuck with the registration steps.
I’m glad nonresidents can sign up, even if it costs a little more. Some towns make these programs residents only.
My dad could use the technology help class. I’ll see if he wants me to help him look through the schedule.
A yarn club and memoir writing sound right up my alley. It’s good to have a regular reason to get out of the house.
jim_rThose both sound like a nice way to meet people, too. I’ve been meaning to give memoir writing a try.
I’d be curious how much the supply fees add up to for the art classes. Nice that the schedule has options like bridge and technology help too.
$80 for residents seems reasonable if you can try a few different classes. The watercolor one has my attention.
The history talk about the families who shaped Yountville sounds really interesting. I’m glad they’re doing a part two in December too.
