If paying for groceries is getting harder, you should not have to travel to Napa to learn where to start.

Food pantries and other programs serve communities throughout Napa County, before Thanksgiving and year-round.

Calistoga

Calistoga Cares Food Bank distributes groceries at the Tubbs Building at the fairgrounds, 1435 North Oak Street, Calistoga, from 2–5 p.m.

Its website specifically lists November 12 and 19 distribution dates; November 19 replaces the usual fourth-Thursday timing this month.

Families enroll in the program, but Calistoga Cares says no one is turned away; call 214-425-7294 with questions.

St. Helena

St. Helena Community Food Pantry is behind the Adventist Church at 1777 Main Street, St. Helena.

Its regular hours are Tuesdays and Fridays, 2:30–4 p.m.; call 707-963-5183 about enrollment, current needs, or holiday changes.

A separate CANV USDA distribution is listed at the St. Helena Spanish SDA Church, 957 Brown Street, on the third Thursday, 3–5 p.m.

Yountville

CANV’s USDA program lists delivery in Yountville on the third Thursday of the month.

Call 707-253-6128 to ask about eligibility and being added; do not treat it as a walk-up distribution site.

American Canyon

The pantry at Harvest Free Will Baptist Church is at 240 Rio Del Mar, American Canyon, with regular hours on the second and fourth Tuesdays, 3:30–5:30 p.m.

CANV’s USDA listing also includes the Old Napa Junction Elementary School, Room 4, at 300 Napa Junction Road, on the third Thursday, 3:30–5 p.m.

Angwin, Pope Valley, and Lake Berryessa

Angwin’s pantry at PUC Church serves groceries at 1 Angwin Avenue on the second, fourth, and fifth Tuesdays, 5–7 p.m.

The CANV food-assistance brochure also lists Pope Valley Farm Center at 5800 Pope Valley/Chiles Road and Lake Berryessa’s pantry at 6004 Monticello Road; call 707-253-6128 for current distribution arrangements.

Napa and meal-delivery options

The Napa pantry is at 938 Kaiser Road, Napa, with regular walk-in hours Tuesday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m., and afternoon appointments.

The Napa Salvation Army lists weekday community lunch, noon–1 p.m., at 590 Franklin Street; confirm holiday service directly.

For homebound older adults, ask CANV Meals on Wheels about eligibility at 707-253-6100, extension 111.

Check the right program before going

CANV’s pantry program has income and identification requirements; no referral is needed, and bringing bags or a box is recommended.

Other options, including produce markets, have different rules; use the Napa County Food Access Coalition calendar and Plentiful’s California directory to look for nearby programs.

St. Vincent de Paul at St. John the Baptist is preparing Thanksgiving baskets; call 707-257-0387 about food assistance and signup.

Regular hours listed here are not confirmed Thanksgiving Day openings; contact the provider about holiday changes, availability, and what to bring.

For upvalley help finding the right service, contact UpValley Family Centers at 707-965-5010.
