Downtown Napa is getting a new destination for shoppers who take their boots seriously.

Lucchese Bootmaker is celebrating its first California store at First Street Napa, bringing a Texas brand founded in 1883 to the valley’s downtown shopping district.

The store is in Suite 202 at 1300 First Street, across from Don Perico.

For residents, the opening puts a specialist bootmaker within reach for an in-person look at a purchase that can be difficult to judge from a photograph.

More than a boot display

Lucchese began in San Antonio and built its reputation around handcrafted boots and leather goods.

The Napa opening announcement describes a selection spanning boots, leather goods, accessories, apparel and other Western-inspired pieces.

That gives the shop a broader role than simply somewhere to buy cowboy boots for a concert.

It could also be a stop for someone comparing styles, looking for a leather accessory or considering a special-occasion purchase.

The announcement promises a personalized shopping experience, though specific stock, fitting services and ordering arrangements should be checked directly with the store.

Napa is a new retail address for the company, but not its first connection to the valley.

In a City of Napa business overview, First Street Napa’s leasing representative noted Lucchese’s existing involvement with Live in the Vineyard and local wineries.

An opening with an afternoon out attached

The grand-opening celebration coincides with the Harvest Hoedown on Saturday, November 7, with free admission from 12:30 to 5 p.m.

Country bands, line dancing and family activities are part of the afternoon, with fundraising for Community Action of Napa Valley.

Our Harvest Hoedown guide has the performance schedule, activities and rain-plan information.

For the store itself, check Lucchese and the First Street Napa directory for the latest visiting information.
