The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised] [Again] wraps up its run at di Rosa Preserve with three final performances: Friday, August 21, and Saturday, August 22, both at 6 p.m., plus a Sunday matinee on August 23 at 2 p.m.
Three actors — Rio Codda, Matt Cowell, and Sofia Quiñones — race through all 37 of Shakespeare's plays in just 97 minutes, directed by Olivia Cowell. Expect outrageous characters, lightning-fast costume changes, physical comedy, and audience interaction thrown in for good measure.
This isn't a stuffy night at the theater. The show, originally created by the Reduced Shakespeare Company, has been making audiences laugh since its 1987 debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and it's since become one of the most-produced plays in the world. Whether you love Shakespeare or you're still recovering from reading Hamlet in high school, this one's built to entertain.
The setting adds another layer. Di Rosa Preserve is a sculpture-filled art space nestled among Carneros vineyards, and Shakespeare Napa Valley is presenting the show there in partnership with the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art. Bring a blanket or low-profile chair (a limited number of Adirondack chairs are available on-site), pack a picnic dinner and a bottle of wine, and settle in before the show starts. Seating is first-come, first-served, and since the performance is outdoors, it's worth dressing in layers for the evening shows.
Tickets are $25 general admission, $5 for ages 5–17, and free for di Rosa members and Napa Valley College students and faculty.

To be honest, I usually skip theater but the physical comedy part sounds fun. Maybe I’ll give this one a try.
$25 is a pretty good deal these days. Especially for live theater. Might as well support local talent.

Parking at di Rosa can get tight on weekends, so get there early if you care about a shady spot.
