Rail Arts District (RAD) Napa is bringing back Action Art Fest for its second year, and this year it's bigger.

The festival runs Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Action Avenue, which transforms for the day into an open-air celebration of public art, food, and music. Last year's inaugural event drew more than 500 people. This year adds even more art, interactive experiences, and food and drink options.

Expect live mural painting and demonstrations from featured artists, plus hands-on community art-making with Nimbus Arts. Typewriter poets will be on hand for anyone who wants a custom poem on the spot. There's also an instrument workshop from Festival Napa Valley, live music throughout the day, and family-friendly activities built in for kids.

Food and drink comes from a lineup of Napa favorites, including Casa Mani Resort Napa Valley, St. Clair Brown Winery & Brewery, Tannery Bend Beerworks, Cluck Me Chicken, Kara's Cupcakes, Sushi Monkey, Lencho's Taco Truck, and R.A.M. Provisions, with more local partners still being added.

Admission is free. The festival is part of RAD Napa's broader mission of turning underused spaces into public art destinations, funded in part through the meals, purchases, and donations made at events like this one.

Action Avenue is located at 3299 Claremont Way in Napa.
