American Canyon has plenty of Mexican restaurants. Until now, it hasn't had a dedicated Mexican bakery. Lucy's Bakery & Taquería, which opened June 24th at 101 Antonina Avenue, Suite 5, next to Triumph Fitness Center, is filling that gap.

The shop comes from Alberto Quiñonez, who already owns Lucy's Bakery and La Taquiza in Napa. Bringing that experience to American Canyon means the city gets a proven concept, not a first-time experiment.

The bakery side opens at 4 a.m., with conchas, bolillos, orejas, empanadas, and other pan dulce baked fresh before sunrise. Nothing here is mass-produced. Every piece of dough is shaped by hand, a detail the shop leans into as part of its identity.

Once the taquería side opens at 10:30 a.m., the menu shifts to street tacos, California burritos, breakfast burritos, shrimp cocktail, and seafood plates, with recipes the family traces back to Puebla and Mexico City. Order options include asada, chicken, carnitas, fish, shrimp, octopus, or veggie, all on handmade corn tortillas.

Lucy's is also set up for catering, with pan dulce trays and taco spreads available for parties and gatherings with a day's advance notice.

Anyone know if they have vegan options? The veggie taco sounds good but hope the beans aren’t cooked with lard.

I always drive by that spot after my workout, this is dangerous for my diet lol.

Hope their tacos live up to the hype. Still haven’t found anything close to what I grew up with in Mexico City.

Hand-shaped bread tastes way better than store stuff. Can’t wait to pick up some bolillos for sandwiches.

If the recipes are from Puebla and Mexico City, you know it’s legit. Curious to see if it matches my grandma’s.

Handmade tortillas make ALL the difference. Count me in for the asada tacos.

Tacos and baked goods in one spot? Dangerous for my lunch break.

Had Alberto’s food at La Taquiza in Napa and it was awesome. Glad to see him open here!

Super bummed they’re closed Sundays, that’s my favorite day for pan dulce! But happy we have options now.
