Summer in Calistoga means one thing on Thursday nights: Concerts in the Park. The series runs from June 18 through August 20 at Pioneer Park. Doors, or rather grass, open at 6:30pm, and the music plays until 8:30. Bring a picnic blanket, grab a spot on the lawn, and settle in. Local wineries pour by the glass, and food is available too, so nobody needs to plan dinner beforehand. Each week pairs a different band with a different set of wineries, and each night supports a different local nonprofit. It's part concert, part community fundraiser, all wrapped into one relaxed summer evening. There's still plenty of season left. On July 23, Second Hand Funk takes the stage with a set built for dancing, mixing funk, soul, and R&B. Sidedoor Cellars and Barlow Vineyards will be pouring that night, with proceeds supporting Wine Country Animal Lovers. A week later, on July 30, The Humdinger Band brings a female-fronted mix of rock and soul to Pioneer Park. GRO Wines handles the pours, and UpValley Family Centers is the night's featured nonprofit. August opens with Jane Blonde and the Goldfingers on the 6th, delivering a polished blend of British rock, soul, and pop. Kenefick Ranch pours that evening, benefiting Rianda House. The following week, on August 13, things shift toward Americana. Miko Marks brings a soulful mix of country and roots music, backed by Six Sigma Ranch and Lawer Estates, with support going to Molly's Angels. The season wraps on August 20 with Maya, a Latin tribute band covering everyone from Selena to Santana. It's become something of a Calistoga tradition, closing out the summer on a high note. Picayune Cellars and Joseph Cellars will pour, with proceeds benefiting the Brannan Center. Every concert is free to attend, though bringing a little extra cash for wine and food is a good idea.
